Environmental Planning and Consulting

Our environmental planning and consulting services are designed to evaluate the impact of construction, infrastructure, and development projects on the natural and human environment. We are subject matter experts with over 20 years of academic and industry experience, allowing us to identify and address environmental vulnerabilities and potential issues during the planning process, resulting in robust, environmentally - considerate plans that have been more likely to be approved quicker by planning committees.

Our experience spans a wide range of projects, including urban renewal initiatives of varying scale (single buildings to entire neighborhoods), national infrastructure plans, master plans for communities, policy frameworks, residential areas, renewable energy projects and more.

What Do Our Environmental Planning and Consulting Services Include?

Preparation of Environmental Reports or Environmental Impact Assessments for Urban Building, Master, or Comprehensive Plans

An environmental report supplements the basic planning documents (most commonly consisting of blueprints and regulations) to address environmental quality challenges. Our reports, prepared by expert environmental consultants, focus on specific issues such as air pollution, noise, hazardous materials and more. Typically, they include five sections: assessment of the current situation, evaluation of planning alternatives, description of the proposed plan, examination of environmental impacts, and recommendations for the program. The latter section is the most critical part as it becomes part of the regulatory framework and is legally binding.

Preparation of Landscape-Environmental Reports According to National Master Plans

A landscape-environmental report extensively examines the impact of planning on open spaces, agricultural areas, ecological systems, landscape disruptions, and more. Our expert environmental consultants prepare these reports which are often mandated by national master plans in areas marked as "high landscape-environmental sensitivity" or when requested by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and its various branches, including local environmental units. Guidelines for these reports are determined by national master plans and are updated periodically by the Planning Administration.

Comprehensive Environmental Planning Support for Master Plans

The preparation and approval process for a master plan is lengthy and can take several years. Our experience shows time and again that by integrating an environmental consultancy approach early on and outlining environmentally friendly development directions as part of this work significantly streamlines both the preparation and approval phases. During the planning process, our consultant evaluates all environmental factors within and adjacent to the project area and provides professional recommendations tailored to your project’s needs.

Ecological Surveys and Expert Opinions

Our Ecological surveys help you understand and demonstrate your consideration for the current state of a given area and provides you with planning recommendations to address any challenges appropriately. Our surveys are often included in a landscape-environmental report to help support your plan through the approval phases.

In addition, ecological opinion pieces assess the impact of your plan — i.e., the future state — on the ecological system, such as the fragmentation of ecological corridors by infrastructure or the impact of construction on natural spaces, whether in rural or urban areas.

Landscape Assessments

Our Landscape Assessments evaluate the impact of planning on the visual environment and offer recommendations to mitigate these effects. These recommendations may include altering building height or design (e.g., tiered instead of monolithic structures), adjusting building colors to match the surroundings, planting vegetation to soften structural outlines, and more. Our Landscape Assessments are often included within a landscape-environmental report to help support your plan through the approval phases.

Ecotourism

Sustainable tourism is tourism that is planned, developed, and managed in a way that minimizes negative impact on the local community and environment and maximizes benefits for them. In natural areas, the term that characterizes such tourism is ecotourism.

At Sadot, we specialize in planning ecotourism concepts, consulting for entrepreneurs and public entities, and providing training and workshops on the subject - in order to ensure that the tourist destination, service, or tourism product is attractive and economical in the long term, as it operates in a well-maintained, healthy, and thriving human and natural environment.

Our experience in environmental planning and ecological consulting, including the use of advanced information systems, allows us to add comprehensive, integrative solutions tailored to the unique needs of each project to conventional tourism planning.
